Before Emily Grace and Evan ever spoke a word to one another, they were praying for each other — they just didn’t know it yet.

In August 2024, before they had ever met, both Emily Grace and Evan committed to attending their church’s 21 Days of Prayer services every morning at 6:00 a.m. Each day, they sat in the same section, unknowingly just a few rows apart, faithfully praying.

What Emily Grace did not know at the time was that Evan had noticed her sitting a few rows ahead of him. Unfortunately, she was often running late, which didn’t make it easy for him to introduce himself (oops!).

Throughout those 21 days, Emily Grace prayed for her future husband, and Evan prayed for his future wife — never realizing they were sitting so close to the very answer to those prayers.

Two months later, the stage was set.

A sweet couple who is mutual friends of theirs began talking one day and had the idea of introducing them. When they asked Evan if he would be interested in meeting a girl they knew, he quietly hoped it would be the girl from 21 Days of Prayer. When they sent him her photo, he was excited to see it was indeed her!

Emily Grace and Evan met the following Sunday in the church gathering area. A week later, they went on their first official date, walking the Noland Trail. From the moment they began walking, conversation flowed effortlessly. They laughed, they shared, and somewhere along the trail, something special began to grow.

Since that day, their relationship has been a beautiful journey of falling in love.

They often get asked what they enjoy doing together - the honest answer is simple: everything. Whether doing something exciting or absolutely nothing at all, they simply love being together. They have become each other’s greatest support and encouragement — challenging one another, praying for one another, and leading each other closer to Jesus.

One year later, Evan brought Emily Grace back to the Noland Trail at Lion’s Bridge and asked her to spend forever with him as his wife. Their families were there to witness the special moment, and it was the easiest “yes” she had ever spoken.

What began with 21 days of prayer became a living testimony of answered prayer — and they cannot wait to see what God writes in the chapters ahead.
